In my experience, this is an unreliable business. My father is in a rehabilitation facility and was scheduled to be transported by Lifecare for a follow-up appointment with his surgeon. The appointment was made several days in advance but on the morning of the appointment LifeCare called the rehabilitation facility cancelling transport because they didn’t have a driver available. I then called to confirm this information and was given a completely different reason for the cancellation. Lifecare said that they do not accept Medicare, GEHA, and Tri-care for life to cover the cost of medical transport. My opinion is that if a “medical transfer” company doesn’t have available drivers or take insurance you should probably not waste your time with them unless you’re prepared to make last minute arrangements for your loved ones transportation. Very disappointing and dissatisfied.

I see mixed reviews here but I have to say we had an amazingly positive experience. Ralph in the Fredericksburg dispatch center was INCREDIBLY kind when we had a horrible situation with a memorycare in Williamsburg that denied my mother her hospice prescribed comfort care and tried to slow roll us at every turn when we wanted her discharged--just because the memory care director is petty and cruel. Ralph saved the day and worked the phones to help me with every transport-related curveball the memory care and executive director tried to throw our way. On Christmas Eve, no less. (The memory care director was literally wearing light up reindeer antlers when she told me she refused to whisper in my dying mother's hospital room when I explained that that was necessary because the noise agitated my mother--and this facility refused to administer my mother's anti-agitants. The memory care director pursed her lips and said "No. I can't whisper." Christmas spirit indeed.) I nearly cried I was so grateful to Ralph for getting my mother away from these people. He reworked the transport team and schedule several times and then made sure we got Courtney as our lead EMT and boy was she AWESOME. Yes, the other two EMTs were not at all personable or even really verbally responsive. Yes the truck would not stop making concerning beeping noises the whole ride, BUT Courtney refused to leave our side while the memory care director and executive director played games, hoping the ambulance team would desert us while they pretended they didn't know what their own discharge procedures were. Courtney was AMAZING. So, if you can talk to Ralph, I believe he will do all he can to help you. He is a truly good human being. He was even concerned about my family after the transport because we had been through so much. Amazing. And if you're in Williamsburg and you get Courtney, you are in excellent hands.

Awful company all around. Medical transport team was uncaring at best. Billing team proved to be even worse to deal with. Awful company and would not recommend to anyone.

My husband was to be discharged from hospital to a rehab facility. Hospital set it up for 230p which was okay. Then they pushed to 430p. Which started causing my husband distress he and been medically cleared at 11am. Lifecare team pushed the time to 730p then 830. At this point my husband was angry and over the whole thing ended up leaving the hospital in my car and refused to go to rehab he was so frustrated. He is unable to walk and unable to use his arms this all could have been avoided if Lifecare had just been able to stick to the schedule they assigned.

Beyond incompetent. They were stumped by the 3 steps on my front porch. They had me help. You would think they would call before leaving the hospital, but you’d be wrong. The company does not, apparently, focus on training and professional skills. I think they hire moonlighting Amazon drivers.
