My husband fell and fractured his knee in December 2024. I was able to get him to the er and then called on Monday and he was able to see a local orthopedic. They scheduled him for an MRI on the following Thursday and then to come back on Friday for a doctor's appointment. On Thursday I was unable to get him out of the house and called Richardson's for a transport. They came. We scheduled the transport for Friday and they didn't bother to tell me that Medicare would not pay for the transport on Friday until we got to the doctor's office. We filled out the form and the doctor's office faxed it to their office in hopes of getting Medicare to pay for it. Unfortunately, Medicare denied it and I filed an appeal but that too was denied. All this took six months and I was in continual communication with them every time I received communication from Medicare. Upon the appeal denial I made arrangements to pay half the amount due in June 2025, one fourth due in July 2025 and the final payment in August 2025 around the middle of each month. My payments unfortunately did not coincide with their cut off dates so my payments usually didn't get posted. Yesterday (August 27, 2025) I received a letter and statement stating they had not received any of my payments. I called them (right at quitting time) and gave them the check numbers, dates and amounts of each payment. They were supposed to call me this morning, but I had to call them. They located my payments and apologized. But my point is how do you miss posting three payments.

On Wednesday, March 13 I had an appointment in Roanoke for 11am , I live roughly 90 minutes away from Roanoke, I can't drive, and I'm not able to walk so I reserved an ambulance service for March 13. I called them on February 19 to request their service. No one ever told me that this company will call you on the same morning as your appointment and need to hear say yes I still need an , ambulance service. They called me at 727 am and left a VM, I never heard my phone ring once. Getting a little anxious cause no one has shown up yet, so I call them and I was told since I didn't give them a confirmation call back,THEY CANCELLED ME BLEW ME OFF AND DIVERTED MY RESERVED AMBULANCE OUT IN ANOTHER AREA. Drs. Offices are not working with patients anymore about real people's issues such as transportation. Don't forget Drs and other medical personnel, our insurance is what you call a paycheck , keep doing a truly rotten low down job and no more customers. I did make to my appointment thanks to an awesome man, I call Drs office and told them I might be a few minutes late bc of transportation issues, receptionist stated can only hold appointment for 15 minutes passed the appointment time . Again, patients insurance is your paycheck. Why are the patients being pushed around by these people, Drs are normal people ,oh they have a piece of paper on a wall that has a college on it . Well for most Drs and medical personnel fold up your degree and make a paper airplane out of it. Or give back to the college and say I'm sorry I wasted your time.

My Mother was discharged as home bound and without services and we struggled to find transportation for her to and from dialysis. When I spoke with the owner of this ambulance service he was knowledgeable and extremely reassuring that her transportation needs would be met. We have been utilizing this service for several weeks and the staff has been more than accommodating to her needs. I would definitely recommend this agency for services. Thanks Richardson Ambulance Service for being there when we needed someone. We appreciate you—Karen

Was at the Wythe Speedway on Sunday 9/3/2023. They was a accident on the track with Kevin Atwell that he had to receive treatment by your service. All they done was splinted his arm took his helmet off without stabilizing it and not put a neck brace on as well. After they loaded the patient the made the statement that they couldn’t transport him to the hospital because they had a contract with the track and couldn’t leave the track no matter what. Said that his wife had to take him to the hospital when they took him from the pits to the top of track me being a first responder for 20 years I know that that when you render aid that you are responsible for them and getting the care they need. This to me is a poor work ethic on behalf of the personal and poor service for a ambulance service.

My brother has had to be transported for 64 continuous days for treatment at the hospital. The members of the Richardson Ambulance service have been a blessing to him and our family. They are compassionate, caring and reliable.
