Best service we have ever had. Bringing my husband home. They were very gentle and respectful. It wasn’t easy to maneuver the stretcher around small door frames to get him into his bed safely. They did an exceptional job!! Definitely recommend them to anyone needing medical transportation.
My husband sliced his thumb on a crossbow April of 2020. AMR transported him to a different hospital to see a hand surgeon. AMR used their most expensive ambulance (a "life-supporting one" is what they said) so that they could charge us $1,600!!! I was in the parking lot of the hospital, and told the nurse I could just transport him, but she assured me it would be covered by my insurance. They didn't show up to take him for over THREE HOURS, while he writhed around in pain.
It was in fact NOT covered by insurance! United Healthcare was very understanding and covered what would have been a normal/considerable contracted rate of $745. UHC said they would work with AMR to get it taken care of and not worry about it any longer.
3 YEARS LATER....AMC sold this to a collection company and put it on our CREDIT!! Three. Years.
I called AMR today and they will not dismiss the rest of this inflated charge!!! I cannot believe I have to track down paperwork about a claim from 3 years ago. They have not communicated with us about this claim since 2020!
Horrible, overinflated and unethical practices!! Stay. AWAY!
I have used this service 3 times a week for 2 months & am very dissatisfied with it. I'm suppose to be picked up at 6 pm to return to the facility but only 3 times has this happened. One time I was not picked up until the following day.☹️ While the transport people are excellent, the dispatcher., needs to find another job. Worst part they have a monopoly, no one else to call.☹️
My 71-year-old mother tried multiple times to get her husband transported to her home. He was supposed to get transported in the morning. They kept giving her the run around and now they are saying he can't get transported until 1:00 am! I've never heard of anything like this. This company is pathetic. Too bad you can't give them negative stars.
My mother received EXCELLENT transport service from AMR. The EMTs (Aryca and Wallace) were two young ladies who were very kind and professional. They arrived on time for pickup and they provided an accurate estimated return time. They patiently answered all of my questions and they provided additional information that I could use. They made my mother feel so comfortable that she gave them a big hug before they left. I am very pleased with the service that we received, and I would ABSOLUTELY use this service again if another medical situation arises.
